Principal Duties and Responsibilities (in order of importance)
Working with the customer and/or settlement agent to cure all post signing related issues or concerns
Communicating to the settlement agent or closing attorney to verify that funds can be disbursed
Retrieve disbursement delay monetary shortages from settlement agents
Communicate with vendor, such as the settlement agent concerning issues with documents not being signed or signed in-correctly, or a Schedule A condition not being met
Review the preliminary and final HUD-1 settlement statements validating the fees are accurate and acceptable
Analyze and notate documentation that is outstanding
Verify receipt of all closing documents to ensure they are correct and have been executed properly
Work with the settlement agent to make any necessary revisions to the HUD-1 settlement statement and come to an agreement on the fees contained within the final HUD-1 settlement statement
Responsible for all wire reconciliation and communicating with settlement agents and vendors on any wire issues.
Providing back up for the Hotline or Coverage roles for Closing Specialist I roles as needed
Knowledge and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in mortgage closing or processing working experience in conventional, FHA and VA financing
A minimum of 3 years customer service experience that includes a minimum of 1 year of direct phone experience working with customer and real estate agents
Possess strong attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to prioritize competing tasks
Basic office and computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Strong teamwork and customer service skills required
