Wealth Management - US Business Transformation Office - Regulatory Change Management - Vice President

Our Team:

Business Transformation Office (BTO) is a program and project management team, focusing on defining strategy, solutions and plans to manage change initiatives impacting the US Private Bank (USPB). Our Initiatives are both regulatory and/or business driven, focusing on business improvement, growth, expansion and enhanced controls. The team works cross-functionally with product specialists, front office advisors, business management, legal, risk management, compliance, operations, technology, middle office, marketing and other stakeholders in the implementation of large scale projects.

The Role:

The role will focus on driving the implementation and management of a new regulatory change risk management framework across USPB in coordination with the International Private Bank and global lead. Working with key stakeholders you will be responsible for the identification, assessment and tracking of upcoming regulatory and industry change impacting USPB. You will facilitate the identification and proposal of business owners and sponsors, coordinate impact assessments, and manage the monthly governance forum to update the operating committee on future rules and the status of regulatory and industry change initiatives. Leading the framework for USPB, you will be the focal point for regional and global forums, represent Wealth Management at cross LOB regulatory change forums, manage the consolidated US inventory of regulatory change, ensure business owners undertake timely impact assessments and update senior leaders on progress through the monthly forum, written updates and bi-annual reporting.

Key Responsibilities include:


  • Own and drive the implementation of the framework for USPB in coordination with the global lead and International Private Bank; identify and develop relationships with key stakeholders, establish reporting times and standards, consistently follow up on actions, tasks and assignments
  • Lead the end to end USPB regulatory change process. Conduct weekly / monthly horizon scanning meetings with internal regions and legal entities, partner with Asset Management, other LOB's and Corporate teams in the identification and subsequent applicability assessment of new or changing regulations and industry change
  • Understand the impact and applicability of regulatory / industry change on the business, be able to identify impacted business groups and propose suitable business owners and sponsors
  • Work with the International Private Bank in developing a pan Wealth Management framework.
  • Maintain a consolidated inventory of regulatory and industry change applicable to USPB, coordinate business impact assessments, track and report progress of initiatives throughout the lifecycle of the framework
  • Update senior leaders on regulatory and industry trends, upcoming change and the status of initiatives already assessed as applicable to USPB
  • Be the USPB lead at regional regulatory change meetings, highlight new and changing rules applicable to USPB and update on the progress of initiatives in-flight
  • Own, deliver and execute tasks in a timely manner, manage and meet deadlines; hold others to account for the delivery of tasks assigned to them, effectively prioritize workload and keep others informed of progress
  • Strong organizational skills, maintain a detailed inventory, establishing the governance and management structures to track initiatives to completion
  • Strong communication and influencing skills; the ability to build consensus and provide succinct briefing materials (verbal and written) to the operating committee
  • Show leadership in difficult or complex situations
  • Identify potential risks, issues and dependencies and the path to mitigation or resolution
  • Take initiative in proposing solutions and "thinking outside of the box"; consider impact across business; collect information proactively and re-evaluate solutions
  • Make results of own analysis understandable, enabling others to accept and buy-in to conclusions
  • Build network and understanding in and outside of the regulatory environment and International Transformation Office, across geographies

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in leading business change, management consulting or project management, independently with direct reporting to senior management
  • Experience in regulatory change management in Financial Services, preferably in Wealth Management
  • Familiarity and experience in working with regulatory control functions within financial services
  • Detailed-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to work independently showing initiative and problem solving, while working within a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage across all levels of seniority and functions with confidence, and to develop effective partnerships with key business partners
  • Ability to balance stakeholder needs within given regulatory and risk parameters
  • Experience of identifying and mitigating risks, anticipating problems and providing solutions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate key messages, and simplify complex business situations
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with a drive towards execution and delivering results
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Be a team player who is flexible and can maintain both a positive attitude and high level of performance on high demand/time-sensitive initiatives
  • Bachelors or Master's Degree (or equivalent)
