Program Manager for Memory Care / Dementia Care at Brookdale Eden Prairie

The candidate must be an energetic and outgoing leader, knowledgeable in person-centered dementia programming, the disease process, and family support.
This position requires someone who can plan, implement and lead dementia programs, coordinate training for care associates, participate in the care plan process, demonstrate leadership skills, manage the department budget and supplies, and be a resource to associates, family and community professionals regarding the program and benefits. It also requires an understanding of therapeutic and behavioral interventions and techniques for effectively interacting with individuals with cognitive impairment.
Qualifications include education and experience in designing and implementing programs with residents who have Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia in a residential setting, and a bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation, recreation management, gerontology or related fields.

What it takes to be a Program Manager at Brookdale:
Our program managers oversee full implementation of resident and family engagement’s overall dementia care program as well as directly providing coaching and leadership of associates who are caregivers within the community. You will also plan and directly coordinate a calendar of dementia friendly programs that meet the specific needs of each and all residents within the dementia care community. A Bachelor’s Degree such as gerontology, therapeutic recreation or related field with a minimum of three years of management and direct supervision experience preferred. Experience with residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias in a residential setting is required.
