Overview
Responsible for the editing, writing, standardization, authentication, and research of Seattle Children's policies and procedures and other support documentation. Provide oversight and coordination of controlled document content, ensuring policy language is consistent with applicable regulations including CMS Hospital Conditions of Participation, Washington State Department of Health, applicable Det Norske Veritas and The Joint Commission accreditation standards, and other licensing, accreditation, and certification standards applicable to Seattle Children's. Work closely with departmental leadership to communicate regulatory requirements, develop and implement effective policies, and train staff to ensure organizational compliance.

Requirements
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelors degree in a related field
- Two years experience in a hospital or ambulatory care setting
- Five to seven years previous experience with technical writing including interpreting regulations or compliance standards, including writing and editing policies and procedures
- Three to five years of experience writing print and on-line communications for multiple vehicles and tactics (print: brochures, posters, articles, FAQs &, web sites)
- Three to five years of experience managing multi-faceted projects with complex timelines

Required Credentials:

Preferred:
- Technical Writing Certification
- Policy development and writing experience in the health care field
- Masters degree in health care administration, law, communications or related field
- Previous experience in regulatory compliance or related activity
- Working knowledge of CMS Hospital, End Stage Renal and Solid Organ Transplant Conditions of Participation; WA DOH hospital and home care licensing requirements; DNV hospital accreditation standards; Joint Commission home care accreditation standards; and other hospital regulatory compliance standards
