JOB TITLE: Exercise Planner - 3d MAW G3

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Provide planning support for exercise and training requirements and serve as an advisor to 3d MAW. Responsible for the development of written recommendations and analysis to support all planning and execution of commander level engagements. This position reports to the Director of 3d MAW Operations (G-3)

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide subject matter expertise support for conduct of planning in support of all subordinate unit participation in Wing and Higher Headquarters exercise requirements

- Assist 3rd MAW staff's efforts to design, coordinate and complete exercise and training requirements

- Create and edit documents based on staff input, propose feasible solutions, and finalize briefs for 3rd MAW leadership and staff

- Assist with development and refinement of 3rd MAW participation in large scale exercises by providing analysis, scheduling recommendations, and training objectives to achieve Training and Readiness manual desired metrics

- Regularly host meetings that synchronize forces and communicate intent for large scale training evolutions

- Receive feedback from exercise participants on planning and execution and provide meeting minutes for G3 Director

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Secret

- Must be a US Citizen

- Secret Clearance

- Bachelors Degree (6 years' additional work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. Associate's Degree plus four (4) additional years' experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree)

- At least 6 years of experience working in an Aviation Combat Element (ACE), including understanding the ACE organic capabilities and planning and directing aviation and ACE operations

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Detailed and functional knowledge of the Marine Corps aviation and aviation support to MAGTF operations

- Graduate of U.S. Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School and/or Command and Staff College

WORK LOCATION: Camp Pendleton, CA

TRAVEL: 20%
