Job Description:

As a member of Data Engineering team, Solution Engineer will be responsible for technical design and end-to-end delivery of complex data-driven solutions for the enterprise. Responsibilities include interfacing with IT, Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Data Governance, Business and Vendor partners to understand and influence requirements and technical solutions and support of technical solutions built by vendors and BSC resources. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end data management, data integration and advanced analytics methodologies and strategies.

Responsibilities:

* Provide technical expertise in design and development activities on concurrent and future complex data initiatives with multi-source systems and deliver high quality integrated data hub.
* Be able to synthesize complex data/information and lead complex technical implementations. Ability to matrix manage/organize others with the IT organization in order to get work done quickly.
* Experience in a large, complex organization or corporate structure environment required. Ability to build strong relationships and drive alignment on difficult topics.
* Work collaboratively to drive adoption and enforcement of technical standards, design principles, smart practices, guidelines and policies.
* Provides comprehensive analytical thinking to ensure cost impact and value are properly understood, estimated and controlled across people, process and technology.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain cohesive relationships, partnerships and negotiate with various teams and diverse groups of internal and external teams, vendors and business partners.
* Strong Communication, presentation and engagement skills, be able to adapt, quick learner, and be able to provide technical expertise across a wide range of technology.
* Provide technical guidance, mentoring to data engineers and developers in designing and implementing large-scale, complex enterprise applications requiring high performance and availability.

12+ years of hands-on design, coding, integration, and deployment experience in enterprise data engineering applications.
* Extensive experience in data management, data integration, data warehouse, bulk/batch/real-time load strategies, and analytics solutions and concepts.
* Strong experience in data management, big data management, master data management, data warehouse, data virtualization, data quality, data reconciliation and data governance design patterns.
* Expert in one or more of the databases and database appliances in use in BSC (Oracle, MongoDB, Cloudera, IBM Puredata (Netezza), MySQL), SQL, ETL, ELT, Shell Scripting and procedural languages.
* Experience working with multiple Data Integration, Master Data Management, Data Reconciliation, Data Governance, Data Quality and Data Virtualization tools in use in BSC (Informatica PowerCenter, IBM Infosphere MDM, Informatica Data Quality, and Denodo etc.)
* Strong technical understanding of data modeling, data mining, data integration, data architecture, data warehousing and data quality techniques.
* Good understanding of business intelligence and analytical tools (like Business Objects, Tableau, SAS), advanced analytical and data science.
* Strong ability to analyze business requirements and transform into technical design and system solutions.
* Experience to assess the current state and identify opportunities for improvement aligning with current technology trends and strategic plans.
* Experience in understanding requirements, preparing technical solution design documents, process, and data flow diagrams.
* Prior Healthcare experience is a plus.

Education:
* BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
