Overview

i3 is seeking a Senior Software Developer to support the MALET JSIL Aircrew Trainer (MJAT) located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. The MJAT is a plug and play training capability that converts a current tactical MQ-9 Reaper Ground Station into a training simulator. The candidate will be part of a team that designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs MQ-9 simulation software. Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, development, and design of simulation to accurately replicate the real-world characteristics.

Responsibilities

The chosen candidate will be responsible for architecture, design, and development of embedded software for military systems.
- Engineering duties will consist of design and development activities using software development tools including requirements management, UML modeling and configuration management applications to provide full software life cycle development (requirements analysis, design, code, integration, test, documentation and support) following CMMI processes.
- Engineers will participate in software team meetings, hardware and software design reviews; technical interchange meetings, and other management meetings as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Strong preference for candidates with BS+15 years or MS+12 years of experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in a Technical discipline and minimum of 5 years of software development experience with both C++ and C#.
- Additional experience may substitute in lieu of education.
- US Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the level of clearance required.
- Experience with Agile and object-oriented programming.
- Familiar with Microsoft Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, and Git.
- Prior knowledge of UAV Flight Simulation to include DIS and CIGI desired.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Must have a strong knowledge of C/C++ and experience developing software for real-time embedded systems.
- Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design methods and the Unified Modeling Language (UML).
- Candidates should have knowledge of software development processes, documentation, and CMMI.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Active Secret Clearance preferred with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
- Basic software engineering concepts should be understood: object-oriented programming and design, software configuration management, unit testing, validation.
- Software tools and developer environment experience a plus, including MS Visual Studio, Subversion, Test Track Pro, MatLab.
- Development experience with Agile and the Scrum framework is desired.
