Job Description:

The CCB Corporate Development team (Corp Dev) is working to chart a new partnership path for Chase, bringing together the assets of the firm to create "One Chase" opportunities to delight our customers. In addition to managing major co-brand and payment partnerships, the team is responsible for evaluating opportunities with third parties to broaden our customer reach through new and existing partnerships. Establishing these partnerships requires careful strategic consideration and we are looking for a team of smart and practical leaders to support the Corp Dev organization to ensure its ability to efficiently and effectively evaluate, negotiate and launch new partnerships to drive business results.

Reporting to the Corp Dev CFO, this role will lead the Corp Dev Deal Support & Execution function, which includes the end-to-end risk and control framework, pipeline management and executive reporting, best practice processes / playbook for deal leads and strong functional partner engagement to support strategic partnership, investment and M&A deals across all CCB sub-LOBs. A strong candidate will be able to think critically to identify pragmatic solutions to support Corp Dev processes for new and emerging risks, business areas and partner opportunity types. In addition, this candidate must establish and maintain strong working relationships with Corp Dev deal leads and business partners, key functional areas such as Controls, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Operations and Technology and firmwide teams including Sourcing, TPO and other Corporate groups. This role will oversee a small team charged with delivering on overall Deal Support & Execution function responsibilities, supporting individual partner deal teams / opportunities as needed and owning various business management tasks including budgeting, location strategy, resiliency planning and team onboarding / communications.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure all deals are executed in accordance with the Corp Dev control framework and relevant deal best practices
  • Oversee end-to-end Corp Dev control framework, including ongoing testing, certification and evidence tracking for all deal-related controls as well as foundational controls supporting both the CCB Strategy and CCB Corporate Development organizations
  • Assess ongoing enhancements to Corp Dev team tools and resources, including best practice playbook, research and technology applications and CRM / deal pipeline reporting platforms
  • Own engagement model and processes to ensure strong collaboration with functional partners and firmwide teams
  • Deliver transparency into the Corp Dev book of work and deal pipeline through accurate, timely tracking of active deal and strategic project opportunities and insightful executive management reporting
  • Continually monitor peer functions, emerging risks and changes in partnership deal constructs to identify the need for implementing new deal-related best practices and / or controls
  • Manage a small team responsible for deal support & execution

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10+ years industry experience, preferably across strategy, consulting, financial services, business management and / or risk and control-related functions; partnership or business development experience preferred
  • BS degree or equivalent experience required
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to demonstrate both when collaborating with peer and senior stakeholder interactions
  • Proven experience building strong working relationships and demonstrating a highly consultative and collaborative approach when working with direct and matrixed team members and colleagues to deliver results
  • Proven experience working across numerous lines of business and support functions within large organizations
  • Significant project and / or program management experience including managing small teams, influencing decision making outside of immediate span of control and accomplishing key objectives and results
  • Ability to work independently, create and deliver on clear objectives in ambiguous / new situations and execute with a relevant sense of urgency when needed
  • Ability to problem solve and clearly articulate balanced, thoughtful recommendations to implement new processes
