Sr. Manager, Site Analytics - Gartner Digital Markets

What you'll do

As part of a central analytics organization, you will have the opportunity to help establish and manage the Site Analytics group at Gartner Digital Markets (GDM). You will identify new areas to apply analytics to drive site performance and increase conversion rates across the GDM portfolio of digital properties. You will develop a deep understanding of how each site functions as well as an understanding of the data required to measure the performance each site. You will analyze user behavior and how each site supports user segments to drive satisfaction and retention You will help deliver a more engaging and relevant site experience for software buyers and help improve the volume and quality of leads for software sellers. You will support experimentation and testing to evaluate the impact of new site features or designs. You will help estimate the potential return on site development options. You will manage a team of site analysts and report directly to the head of analytics at GDM.

The specific responsibilities of the position include


  • Use analytics to support GDM's mission to be the leading resource for software buyers and sellers

  • Manage team of data analysts focused on improving the site performance through data and analysis

  • Partner with product management and tech teams to implement site measurement strategies

  • Ensure GDM site general managers and product managers have the data and analysis they need to accomplish site performance objectives

  • Report to the head of GDM analytics as the owner of the Site Analytics group within a larger, centralized analytics organizational structure

  • Develop and manage recurring reports and dashboards that measure site performance in detail

  • Produce ad hoc and project-based analysis to support key business initiatives 

  • Quantify the impact of major business initiatives and communicate findings to key stakeholders

  • Support the planning and forecasting process as needed to predict the performance of site metrics

  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources to support analytics goals

  • Provide data-driven recommendations and guidance to inform business strategy

What you'll need


  • BA/BS degree required; graduate degree preferred

  • Degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics or another quantitative field preferred

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with business performance reporting or ad hoc analysis

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing a team of data analysts

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using a query language on a daily basis (SQL)

  • Experience developing custom approaches to solve complex analytics challenges   

  • Experience working with cloud-based or relational database management systems

  • Experience working with web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Omniture)

  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization systems (Tableau, Power BI)

  • Proficiency with Google or Microsoft suite of business applications required (Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Experience working for consumer or business-facing digital businesses a plus
