Job Description

Mailroom Associate focuses on all categories of mailings.  Main responsibilities are Hand and machine folding, collation/bundling of mail, processing of undeliverable mail, and sorting of postcards.  Additionally, a Mailroom Associate loads and unloads printed material from the machines, maintain quality standards, and perform scheduled maintenance as well as all other duties as assigned.  Applicants should have at least 1 years’ experience in a mailroom setting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Maintaining set quality standards and company SOP’s

  • Read and understand work order completely. Visually inspect all work order materials against job specifications and report all problems to supervisor.

  • Comply with all company and postal service requirements

  • Efficiently setting up machinery and performing all mailing operations

  • Making adjustments to machines during run

  • Once the job is running the operator must work independently and maintain consistent quality through the run

  • Handling job related materials

  • Moving skids

  • Packing boxes and mail trays

  • Communicating effectively with all appropriate personnel

  • Checking floor, work area and equipment continuously for hazards

  • Maintaining quantity counts

  • Cleaning and maintaining mailing area and machines

  • Taking care of the balance of material after a job has completed

  • Additional responsibilities as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  • This position requires long periods of standing and walking

  • Bending and lifting are required

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Computer knowledge is required

  • Ability to balance transactions

  • Fast-paced, reliable, and detail oriented

  • Ability to work independently and multi-task

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years old. Must be able to read and understand written or verbal instructions, work specifications and use basic math.
