Product Design Specialist, 3M, St. Paul, MN. Lead product design process, continuous imprvmt initiatives & influence/set design policy for 3M Biopharmaceutical Purification business. Apply injection molding, plastic pressure vessel & failure mode analysis design-related knowledge, incl current trends, design theories, methods, & processes to dvlpmt of innovative single-use polymeric purification materials & products. Ph.D. in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Aerospace Eng'g required. Must also have 2 yrs. exp. in: (i) designing industrial products, using design-forward product dvlpmt, & user experience design for injection molding; (ii) component & system-level creative modeling & drafting using SolidWorks CAD & Mold Flow analysis; (iii) characterizing transient thermomechanical structure-property behavior of polymers & polymer systems or mathematical modeling of dynamic mechanical behavior of polymeric systems; & (iv) hands-on polymer processing incl. injection molding.
