Job Description:
UPG Enterprises in Dearborn, MI is looking for a Slitter Setup Operator for a 6:30 am - 3:00 pm opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Setup toolbar
- Read work orders to ensure size and gage tolerances, ID size and packaging instructions
- Understand weight, linear feet, and PIW of coils Check and ensure slit quality
- Use micrometer, caliper, tape measure, and other measurement tools as required
- Recognize non-conforming material and take appropriate action if non-conformance arises
- Fill out inspection forms as required
- Operate jib crane as required
- Operate overhead crane as required
- Inspect and operate forklift as required
- Ability to work safely and efficiently without supervision
- Use all PPE properly
Qualifications:
- 3 years or more of slitter setup or slitter operator experience.
- Ability to operate a Forklift (as appropriate).
- Experience running an overhead crane, preferred.
- Ability to use and read micrometer, caliper, and tape measure.
- Experience with cold rolled, hot rolled, and galvanized type steels is a plus.
- Good reading, writing, mathematical, and computer knowledge.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
