We are seeking a Registered Nurse to:


  • Provide direct and indirect nursing care for UW Health employees, contract employees and non-employee groups, with an emphasis in the area of occupational health.  

  • Complete Employee Health visits per hospital policy and department protocols.

  • Monitor employee work-related illness and injury trends and assesses, develop and implement strategies to prevent work-acquired injury or illness and expedite return to work.

  • Safely administer and appropriately document on immunizations and TB skin tests given to UW Health employees per protocol or as instructed.

  • Provide orientation and training for UW Health employees in the areas of employee health and wellness.

  • Assist with mass employee influenza clinics.

  • Help with COVID-19 work as needed.

Education:

Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).

Work Experience:

Minimum - One year of relevant nursing experience

Preferred - Experience working in either an employee health clinic, infectious disease or internal medicine clinic

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - Registered Nurse Licensed in the State of Wisconsin and CPR certification.

Preferred - Certified as a COHN

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Advanced knowledge and skill in all aspects of immunizations for adults.

  • Knowledge of current literature applicable to occupational health.

  • Knowledge and experience documenting patient care in an electronic medical record.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Ability to make knowledgeable clinical assessments and judgments

  • Ability to educate staff

  • Ability to provide counseling and emotional support with compassion and respect for the individual

  • Ability to provide support to the members of the care team (teamwork)

  • Must possess initiative and ability to work independently

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical records

Physical Requirements:

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule:

This is a part-time, 90% FTE position scheduled to work 36 hours per week. The scheduled shifts will be during day time hours, Monday through Sunday between 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.
