Job Description:

As Senior Financial Analyst II for North America Corporate Accounts, you will partner with commercial leaders, providing financial planning & analysis support related to Corporate Accounts revenue and capital placements, with a focus on North America, as well as global OPEX planning. In addition, you will have some responsibility for month-end close accounting activity related to our Corporate Contracts. You will report to the Finance Manager in charge of Corporate Accounts global Financial Planning. You will be responsible for applying analytical knowledge to develop the revenue, discounts, OPEX, and capital placement plans throughout the planning cycle, report and present to management, commercial leaders and FP&A team. Our objective is to deliver clear, transparent insights into historical trends and use those insights along with analytical knowledge to develop expected forward-looking financial outcomes.This is a comprehensive role that requires excellent communication skills, good business knowledge as well as the desire to improve planning processes.The leveling of the position is flexible based on a candidate's background.Due to the current pandemic, as it relates to COVID-19, our employees' safety and well-being are top of mind for us. Currently, our team is working from home full-time and will continue to do so at least through to 2021. This means that we are providing our onboarding, training, and support for our new hires (like yourself) virtually.What you will be doing:
- North America - Discounting, Revenue, and capital projections: Lead FP&A activities for revenue, discounts and capital projections, including forecasts, budgets, strategic planning and ad hoc analysis as needed.
- Support the alignment of the Corporate Accounts revenue planning processes between North America and Europe, to provide insights into the contribution of Corporate Accounts to IDEXX revenue growth
- Prepare/develop reports and presentations, summarizing work activities and results and communicating to peer groups as well as senior management.
- Scope may expand to other geographies in Europe or elsewhere over time
- Global operating expense: Lead FP&A activities for OPEX projections, including forecasts, budgets, strategic planning and ad hoc analysis as needed.
- Analyze monthly and quarterly deviations to plan and forecast, reviewing accuracy of information. For Europe, provide accruals input to Accounting team where needed.
- Contract compliance monitoring and reporting: provide insight into Corporate Accounts performance based on financial and non-financial KPI's defined in the contracts.Leverage information technology to automate, streamline and integrate processes.
- Accounting processes related to North American contracts: including enrollment monitoring, incentive calculation, and quarterly GAAP compliance estimates
- Understand critical business needs to provide excellent support to commercial business partners.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to coordinate work and resolve issues as needed. Lead/participate on teams related to new or ongoing project work.
- Identify and implement process improvements in planning, analysis, reporting and monitoring of financial measures, leveraging software to automate, streamline and integrate processes.
- Utilize data, metrics and system tools to ensure efficiency and to maximize team productivity.
- Identify problems, obstacles and opportunities and proactively acts to address issues.
- Strive for continuous improvement.
- Monitor reporting processes and help maintain control over the reporting environment. Identify gaps in controls and support development of approaches to mitigate exposure.What you need to succeed:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Masters degree or equivalent preferred.
- Planning and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and be flexible with changing business needs.
- Proven analytical skills, and strong financial planning and analysis experience, in the area of revenue planning, expense management and investment prioritization.
- General business knowledge required, including specific knowledge of businesses supported.
- Excellent customer service and business relationship-building skills required.
- Reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills to resolve issues.
- Communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office, SAP, and SAP BPC (Nexxus)Physical Demands and Work Environment: Extensive sitting, standing and computer use. Extend and reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers. Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
