Overview
The HVAC Service Technician performs maintenance and repairs on various types of commercial HVAC & ventilation equipment. As part of a maintenance team, the HVAC Service Technician will perform routine, reactive and emergency service calls of facilities and its components.
Responsibilities
Identifies, diagnoses, troubleshoots, analyzes, and repairs various types of electrical and mechanical HVAC faults.
- Performs preventive maintenance duties and carries out proactive repair to ensure minimal to no equipment down time.
- Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
- Demonstrates ability to perform assigned tasks independently and completely.
- Inspects and cleans all HVAC systems to include fans, exhausts, ductwork, etc.
- Ability to work in a team-based setting, sharing workload and information with other members of the team to ensure client satisfaction.
- Utilizes experience and working knowledge of equipment, tools, and methods commonly applied in repairing air conditioning and heating equipment in commercial buildings.
- Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Required to be in on-call rotation to respond to after-hours emergency calls.
- Perform or oversee contractor performance of service repair work to the highest quality standards.
- Demonstrates good safety practices and establish work areas compliant with OSHA safety standards and practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Project Manager.
- Requires safe use of company vehicle and daily travel to various facilities on the Florida Turnpike, company vehicle provided.
- Overtime, working nights and weekends may be required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent, associates preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience working commercial HVAC service, maintenance, and repair.
- Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
- Demonstrates knowledge and experience with various types of building components and systems. Electrical experience with knowledge of fire detection and suppression systems a plus.
- Ability to operate a variety of standard power tools and equipment in a safe and proficient manner. Ability to operate heavy equipment/machinery a plus.
- Proficient in reading schematics and blueprints.
- Must maintain a valid United States driver's license and demonstrate the ability to operate a vehicle and tow an attached trailer.
- NATE certification a plus.
- OSHA 10-hr construction safety and health certification a plus.
- Basic computer skills with Windows based systems.
- Fluent English verbal and writing skills required, bilingual a plus.
