Responsibilities

Underrngeneral guidance of the CAO for Department of Human Genetics, you will be responsible for fundrnmanagement for the department's extramural funds, 19900 funds, compensationrnplan, indirect cost recovery and sales and service funds totalling approximately 11M in annual cash flow. As our Senior Fund Manager, you will be responsible for pre and post-awardrnadministration including the preparationrnof financial reports and account reconciliations for PI specific accounts andrnthe department's operating accounts. You will monitor status of PI startup, retention and various commitments, meet with faculty members to review thernmonthly reports and coordinate, update and revise changes in projections andrnexpenses.

Our Senior Fund Manager will also provide advance data extraction and compilation trendrnanalysis for executive level decision support and strategic planning and will assistrnthe CAO with the annual department budget and provide technical support by runningrnqueries and compiling data. You will independently monitor financial activity ensuring that designated fiscalrnoperations adhere to GAAP, OMB circulars and UCLA Financial Policy. In this role, you will be responsible forrnensuring procurement transactions are authorized, correctly entered arernallowable under proposed funding and properly funded and for depositing payments fromrnoutside sources to sales and service funds, donor funds and to the departmentalrnfunds. You will serve as one of therndepartmental security administrators by monitoring, reviewing and controllingrnaccess to various electronic systems.Qualifications

* Demonstrated experience with the grant proposal submission process in order to work with staff and faculty when completing forms and processing through appropriate channels.

* Skill in performing basic bookkeeping transactions such as debiting, crediting, computing rates, ratios and percentages, preparing financial transactions/documents and reconciliation of expenses.

* Ability to read and interpret financial reports, including salary distribution spreadsheets in order to draw conclusions from data.

* Demonstrated understanding of business ethics connected to the accountability and confidentiality involved in processing financial transactions.

* Knowledge of the concept of organizational hierarchy and policies and procedures established around such a
structure.
