Under minimal supervision is responsible for supporting the overall performance of all DOCSIS related equipment. Evaluating and recommending proposed improvements, and assisting in the correction of related problems. Train, support, instruct and coordinate the operation of the Suddenlink network from CPE to internet transit location. Communicate effectively with others in Corporate Engineering and Regional Date Engineering disciplines. Evaluates and recommends selection of all DOCSIS related equipment (hardware and software). Develops DOCSIS provisioning, training, operational documentation and assist in launching of new equipment. Participates in evaluation, selection, engineering and network design of data and digital telecommunications equipment including routers, CMTS, provisioning systems and switches. Analyze all practical solutions to Suddenlink network technical and network-related business problems. Provide Tier 5 level support to Network Operation Center and their customers. Coordinate with planning personnel responsible for other services to assure optimum utilization of shared network resources. Provides on-going technical support and training for Suddenlink employees. Provides guidance in resolving technical problems. Assist in the establishment of and updating CPE performance measurement and goals. May assist in the preparation of large Suddenlink business proposals, sales calls, and presentations. Reviews project financial budgets. Coordinate with planning personnel responsible for other serves to assure optimum utilization of shared network resources. Provides quality customer (and internal customer) service surrounding the Company values. Assist other departments to assure proper monitoring of performance is being captured from CPE devices. Maintains and secures Company equipment. Uses small hand tools, power tools, meters, and other test equipment. Works on regularly scheduled days as well as unscheduled days and beyond regular work hours as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

* Has performed and/or assisted in the development of CMTS, provisioning platform, cable modem configurations and support requirements.

* Must have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications, analytical and problem-solving skills

* Five years of experience installing, testing, and/or maintaining Cable Modem Termination Systems, provisioning systems and routing

* Working knowledge of HFC ("Hybrid Fiber Coax") Broadband network architecture, CMTS access ("cable modem termination system"), Packetcable and DOCSIS 1.0 and higher

* Must have intermediate level understanding of one or more of the following protocols, architectures, operating systems, programming languages or tools:

* TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Ethernet, Network Protocol Analyzers, Traceroute, Ping, SNMP, WiFi, Perl,

* Shell scripts, Unix/Linux

* Must have a CCNA, IPEP or adequate work experience to show competency

* Must have working knowledge of DOCSIS provisioning practices

* Appropriate valid driver s license and a good driving record

* Bachelor s Degree or equivalent preferred
