We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our team in Agilent's Diagnostics and Genomics Group to further develop Agilent's SureSelect NGS technologies. You will be a key scientist responsible for experimental execution and data analysis. The ideal candidate enjoys working in the lab and will have strong molecular biology skills and experience with assay development and/or optimization. Experience with NGS target-enrichment assays a plus.

Responsibilities:


* Nucleic acid isolation and sample preparation using multiple NGS technologies and automation platforms
* Collaborating with both Molecular and Bioinformatics scientists on experimental design and analysis
* Documenting and presenting results


* Bachelors or Masters degree in a related field such as molecular biology or similar strongly preferred; may consider candidates with an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience specific to this role
* 2+ years of specific experience in molecular assay development
* Knowledge and experience with common molecular biology techniques and principals such as: Nucleic acid hybridization assays, PCR and primer design, DNA/RNA isolation, enzymatic manipulation of DNA/RNA, etc.
* Ability to work with next-generation sequencing sample preparation workflows
* Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment within a global organization
