JOB SUMMARY

As the Vice President of Solutions Engineering you will be leading out the Solutions Engineering organization, comprised of 260 employees, within the Americas Sales organization. You will be responsible for strategic leadership and management oversight to of the Solutions Engineering organization in support of the Americas business goals. Reporting to the America s VP Sales Leader, this is a high-visibility role that provides the development of the overall Solutions Engineering plan and setting the strategic direction, performance standards, with a focus on customer success for the engineers within the Americas. You will define, develop, and managing implementing all strategic pre-sales activities and outcomes to drive and support the end to end customer experience.

You will have to challenge yourself and your teams to find new ways of selling by innovating your team s understandings of what customers want and working together with the sales organization. You will need to actively participate and contribute to the global SE leadership community to help innovate and share best practices. This role requires knowledge of portfolio selling and offerings in the hw/sw/and cloud environments. It requires a builder who has a passion for growing teams and businesses at scale.
Responsibilities:
* Define and execute NetApp s technical sales strategy in conjunction with functional business leaders, sales leaders and business units, successfully executing current capabilities while building transformational operating strategy.
* Build repeatable playbooks and defining execution best practices
* Recruit, mentor and inspire SEs to do the best work of their careers.
* Influence the mindset of CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, DevOps leaders, helping to shape their long-term architectural direction and scope roadmap for them to get to their target end-states.
* Champion the voice of our users and customers and influence product direction and feature priorities.
* Partner with Sales to deliver the number. Partner with Sales and Customer Success to manage the customer journey from technical discovery to technical win to successful adoption, value realization and expansion
* Influence senior executives to drive transformation.
* Build and manage organizational talent. Determine the mix and level of talent required to support current and future business objectives, assess the key strengths and gaps to ensure a long-term succession and internal talent pipeline. Nurture, engage, and develop employee talent. Create talent strategies for internal and external hiring with NetApp Talent Acquisition team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

* 10+ years experience in technical sales engineering
* Demonstrates exceptional leadership skills with the ability to create and drive vision across the SE organization
* History of overachieving targets in a SaaS business
* Deep experience building and scaling presales organizations, preferably within a Cloud business, across large and small customers in a fast paced environment
* Strong interpersonal and team building skills, proven ability to work with a diverse team and influence and drive change across functional and business boundaries in a fast-paced environment
* The ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment and ability to manage multiple stakeholders and other groups simultaneously and have strong communication skills

EDUCATION

* less than span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif" Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience preferred
