The Emerson laboratories work in conjunction with product and research engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for residential and commercial air conditioning systems. To maintain our role as a global leader of compression solutions, we continually seek talented and ambitious technicians to work in our engineering laboratories. We are seeking a Centrifugal Life Test Mechanical Technician (1st Shift) to contribute to our growth and continued innovation.

 

AS A CENTRIFUGAL LIFE TEST MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL: 


  • Adhere to all Corporate and Laboratory Safety standards and policies, including EPA regulations

  • Maintain and upkeep Lab facilities and test stands

  • Operate Laboratory test equipment including but not limited to:


    • Durability test stands, data acquisition, variable speed drives, PLC and various computer assisted measuring devices


  • Accurately document test results

  • Verbatim compliance with refrigerant handling procedures

  • Use lab software and computers to create reports (Excel/Word/Powerpoint)


 

SCHEDULE:

We offer a work-life balance to our employees. This is a 1st shift position with 8 hour shifts Monday through Friday.

You utilize process mapping. You have great listening skills. You are creative and select items you’re working with wisely. You create a plan and outline for various audiences. You understand what you do well, and what areas still need development and mentor(s). You focus on creating an effective collaborative style.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • HS Diploma plus 2-3 years relevant experience.

  • Have basic mechanical, HVAC/R, and electrical/electronic skills

  • Have troubleshooting and problem solving skills

  • Have personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.


PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • Associate Degree in HVAC/R Technology or Electro-Mechanical Technology plus one year of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with mechanical systems, compression equipment, high speed rotating motion mechanisms, rotor dynamics, or electrical components.
