The Role

Genmab is looking for a dedicated and experienced Legal Advisor to be part of our existing Legal team (based in Copenhagen (DK), Utrecht (NL) and Princeton). This position is based in our Princeton, NJ office.

The Legal Advisor will assist in all areas of Genmab's global organization by integrating legal aspects into business considerations. The main part of your job will be reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements within clinical operations and manufacturing. You will work project-based and closely together with devoted colleagues in the organization and with external collaboration partners, vendors and CROs, with the overall goal to develop new and innovative medicines to patients.

The Legal department consists of 16 Legal Advisers and is divided into different global sub-teams. You will be part of the Clinical Development sub-team reporting to the Associate Director, Legal Lead, Clinical Development located in Copenhagen.

Responsibilities


  • Legal project responsibility for clinical projects to ensure legal review of relevant contracts including service agreements, manufacturing agreements, consultancy agreements and clinical trial agreements.

  • Review of other clinical trial related documents including informed consent forms, letters of authorization etc.

  • Handling of subject claims

  • Review and negotiate investigator sponsored trial agreements

  • Assisting with local site-related agreements as required from time to time.

  • Ad hoc legal support to the organization

Requirements


  • JD or LL.M. from an accredited law school with a minimum of 8-9 years of relevant work experience from the life science industry or a contract research organization.

  • Experience from a law firm servicing life science clients is a preference but not a requirement.

  • Experience in reviewing and negotiating relevant agreements

  • Experience in working with IP rights in particular patents rights

  • Commercially-minded and solution-oriented with an ability to analyze legal situations, understand the facts and the client's business position and efficiently assimilate information from a variety of sources

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively on a cross functional teams

  • Experience working in an international environment

  • Excellent verbal/written communication and negotiating skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams

  • Good sense of quality combined with personal drive and a positive attitude

  • Proactive and open minded

  • Ability to prioritize and work in a fast paced and changing environment

  • Result and goal-oriented and committed to contributing to the overall success of Genmab
