The System Administrator has responsibility for the operation, installation and configuration of software systems including performing day-to-day administration and maintenance. This position will also work with a team of IT professionals responsible for the maintenance, growth, and security of our production and development environments. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting application, hardware and other related problems while working closely with network engineers, other system administrators and other technology departments.

Job Responsibilities Include:


  • Monitor server system and network performance.

  • Create and maintain documentation on existing systems and processes.

  • Identify and troubleshoot software and system problems.

  • Apply patches and upgrades on a regular basis.

  • Learn toolsets that deal with systems monitoring, management, and automated deployment.

  • Participate in team efforts to establish, document, and implement software installation standards for all systems.

  • Provide on-call technical support during non-business hours as required.

  • Provide technical support to customer care team, as required

  • Determine priority of action based on severity of service disruptions and respond appropriately.

  • Coordinate with TC Techops directives, as needed

  • Learn and provide services to system programming and scripting, as directed

  • Execute on other assignments, as directed.

Experience


Required


  • Understanding of communication protocols, internet/network security and authentication.

  • Experience configuring, supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft IIS.

  • Experience configuring, supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server.

Preferred


  • Experience administering Windows Servers including experience with Active Directory.

  • Experience with Linux and knowledge of Cisco/F5 networking equipment.

Education


Required


  • Associates or better in Computer Science or related field

Preferred


  • Bachelors or better in Computer Science or related field
