In this role, you will focus on audience engagement, growing subscriber revenue in digital channels, and growing loyal audience. You ll also develop skills of digital content judgment, brand management, and revenue generation. Our digital brands reach 10 million visitors every month, guaranteeing a large, engaged audience for your work.

The digital team focuses on building audience around local news, as well as key passion topics like food, entertainment, lifestyles, and sports.

40% Onsite messaging, customer experience messaging, building customer experience to improve revenue

30% Curate and execute emails, social and plan content distribution across channels

20% Digital content & product presentation

10% Digital revenue projects, enterprise content planning

Role Expectations

Support and execute the end-to-end digital customer experience strategy to drive value and price acceptance.

Be the champion for customer experience across the company and provide executive visibility around key customer experience metrics

Create and maintain messaging at the point of contact to promote subscriptions, engagement, and audience growth.

Facility with third-party systems, including Social News Desk, Arc, Naviga Engage, Iterable, and other messaging platforms as needed.

Build partnerships with content producers, marketing, consumer revenue, technical support, and customer service to drive critical improvements in customer experience, digital distribution, and digital presentation.

Prioritize opportunities to grow consumer and advertising revenue.

Provide insight based on experience and analytics to advance evergreen and planned content strategy, including creation, curation, search optimization and distribution.

Advance digital distribution and presentation of key content initiatives, breaking news and other audience events (e.g., elections, investigations, entertainment, weather, live event coverage).

Grow audience for premium content (community, investigations, business, food/dining, and lifestyles) across all platforms, channels and newspaper brands to hit overall audience targets (e.g., site and app visits, social referrals, video views).

Use metrics to track growth and engagement of premium audience for all brands. Create benchmarks, track to overall targets, share findings with team

Assist with management, programming, and optimization of newspaper products and content distribution across mobile, video, social, newsletters, and app.

Create, coordinate and implement digital promotional strategy for key content initiatives, from creation and optimization to distribution.

Innovate: take calculated risks, engage in growth-hacking and testing. Share findings, inform strategies.

Qualifications: Key Requirements

An orientation to test and learn, demonstrate, and collaborate on best practices for content strategy, customer experience, search optimization and tease writing

Strong presentation skills in both team and larger group settings

Learn quickly. Use and optimize third-party tools for content distribution, messaging and analytics

Effective, regular communication with colleagues, managers and other stakeholders across departments

Scheduling flexibility this is a 24/7 newsroom. Working on evenings, weekends or holidays is expected

Affinity for working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment

Proactive problem-solver and self-starter who values collaboration and group feedback

Stay current on digital audience, technology and advertising trends to help drive business development

Actively watch, listen to, read or otherwise review products across all platforms and markets

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor s degree in communication, marketing, journalism, or relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)

Understanding of CX/UX strategies best practices, principles, and models. Familiar with customer journey mapping

Product management and road map experience

Minimum 2-3 years of digital experience with proven track record

Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
