Job Description:

OBJECTIVE:

A salesperson is to provide excellent customer service and consistently maintain a professional approach in providing the customer with a pleasant shopping experience. Salespeople are to be efficient and effective in the selling process while building and maintaining strong relationships with as many customers as possible. The goal is to keep the customer coming back.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet and assist customers promptly and professionally
• Process all estimates, orders and invoices in a correct and timely fashion
• Coordinate any stock material needs with the appropriate buyers
• Provide complete and correct paper work for receiving
• Communicate clearly with the dispatcher and provide complete and correct paperwork for all deliveries, vendor will calls, and credit pickups
• Follow through with all appropriate coworkers and vendors when credit returns if special orders are involved
• Getting deposits on all cash special orders (minimum 50%)
• Confirming with accounts receivable that a charge account is in good standing before placing a special order
• Keeping a system that can be followed in your absence
• Follow company policies and procedures
• Treat coworkers professionally
• Answer the phone promptly and professionally
• Get confirmations on special orders, review and submit to Inventory Department
• Follow up with calls on estimates with customers checking status of these estimates
• Walk the order staging area of the warehouse and yard checking on any orders of stock or special orders that need to be put back or sent back
• Continue expanding product knowledge
• Give input on development of new items
• Follow through with addressing any problems promptly
• Maintain designated area in store to maximize appearance and to generate sales
• Provide excellent customer service
• Keep current on all daily reports including special order returns, delivery & PO dates, credits, missing deposits, OK to fills, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Sit/stand for 8 hours per day
• Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. occasionally
• Must be able to push/pull 50 lbs.
• Horizontal reaching is required
• All mobility motions are required (standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing)
• Limited range of motion and physical activity occurring randomly for 8 or more hours per day
