Schneider Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a passionate individual to assume the role of Manufacturing Engineering Manager in our Columbia, SC . Plant.

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for directing and supporting the Manufacturing Engineering Team in process improvement and executing on goals and objectives for profitable, sustainable growth.

Deliverables include ensuring milestones, budgets, resources, and technical commitments are met in accordance with expectations of the customer, the operations team, and the business development group. This role requires a proactive leadership style and the abilities to both lead by example and build collaborative teams, while effectively championing initiatives to drive and support continuous improvements of the business and organization.

Responsibilities Include:

Improves manufacturing efficiency, cost, product quality, and worker safety by analyzing current methods, new methods, new technologies and cost reduction activities in selected areas.

Lead the deployment of Schneider Performance System (SPS) in the facility.

Develops, designs and plans equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities and mitigate risks.

Evaluates worker productivity and recommends improvements to increase manpower efficiency and operating performance, reduce waste and delays, and promote cost control/reductions.

Develops metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output, and identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks.

Determines facility specifications, including analysis and evaluation of location, material resources, and structural design.

Resolves technical problems and recommends production improvements.

Lead and direct our maintenance team and manufacturing engineering team to meet above objectives.

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will have additional responsibilities as assigned.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or Business or other relevant discipline, a minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience to include experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment, leading teams and developing individuals, Lean experience and preferably be a certified Six Sigma greenbelt.

The successful candidate for this position will be passionate about learning and development and aspire to continue to grow their own career within Schneider, which will require the individual to have some travel.
