Senior Specialist, Inventory at The E.W. Scripps Company

Job Description:

Primary Purpose

Manage and implement content flow from Programming to Net Ops. Plan and research inventory with corporate and outside media partners. Analyze needs for the partners to strategize and implement projects to meet corporate and network goals. Manage network programming schedule and network cue tones and other technical secondary events.

Key Activities


  • Responsible for format template creation, format instance manipulation, and format management based on network needs.

  • Analyze each syndicated series and create format templates based on technical specs.

  • Anticipate schedule changes and liaise with multiple teams to actualize the changes.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the playlist sent to master control up to and including revising the automation script.

  • Create and generate reports based on corporate and management needs.

  • Create and maintain format template groups.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of other roles such as inventory, sales, and master control and incorporate the knowledge into format template and log creation.

Skills

Education & Experience/Certifications


  • College degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of television copy/traffic experience required.

  • 3 years minimum of experience in television in other departments such as programming, sales, master control, etc.

  • Proficiency with MS Office required.

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Good written and oral communications skills.

  • Be able to work collaboratively with a team and independently on projects.

  • Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.

  • Have a clear understanding of sales operations.

  • Ability to adhere to tight daily deadlines without compromising quality.

  • Analyze data to make sound decisions and acknowledge new ideas through expression and presentation.
