Job Description

The Senior Brand Manager – Corporate Brands will create the strategy and lead the marketing plan and execution of the FC Private label business through direct leadership of the P&L, Portfolio, and Packaging Strategy while influencing cross-functional partners in a matrix organization to include R&E, Product Supply, Marketing Capabilities, and Sales.

Essential Accountabilities:


  • Effectively manage P&L and drive delivery of business objectives for the business including net sales, operating profit, gross margin, and market share.


  • Lead development of Corporate Brand initiatives for Family Care.  Responsible to partner with Customer Development for corporate brand activation activities and retail partner relationship development.  Point person accountable to set trade rates, demand forecast and annual targets in collaboration with Customer Development using the AOP and S&OP process.


  • Innovation. Partner with Customer Development and Brand to deliver robust innovation pipeline to improve relationships and Family Care financials.  Provide clear direction to broader brand team to ensure corporate brand initiatives are consistent with ABP; drive prioritization on resources (people, budget, capital) and keep team focused on core objectives.


  • Deliver excellence in execution by managing innovation, pricing and promotional plan tied to ABP and SBP. Execute clear, simple and frequent communication with the front end to ensure understanding and best in class execution of plans with retail customers.


  • Identify and lead process improvements at the sector, portfolio and corporate brand levels.


  • Lead DPSM and pricing strategy for PL brands with Customer Development.


  • Lead 18 month view of consumption and shipment forecasting for Corporate Brands; Understand risk and opportunities with current year plan to deliver P&L goals and drive continuous improvement of plans to ensure all financial objectives are met; Lead gap closure efforts if required.


  • Own and drive strategic linkage across business objectives, strategies and business plans (ABP, BOP, SBP) for Corporate Brands.


  • Drive continuous development of innovation, renovation and commercial news pipeline in partnership with R&E, MRA (includes Ideal Consumer Experience model).


  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to understand the target consumer and track to metrics to evaluate our effectiveness in reaching that consumer; Use consumer research and business analysis to understand the competition, channel dynamics, consumer segmentation & positioning, product segmentation and sales performance.


  • Deliver projects on-time by leading diverse cross functional team through the stage gate process and ensure appropriate consumer learning plan is executed and learning acted upon to improve concept and product execution prior to launch; Network with stakeholders throughout the organization (R&D, Manufacturing, Sales etc.) to both manage the work and ensure effective buy-in.


  • Lead and/or support additional Family Care strategic initiatives, projects, or capability building based on needs of the business


Working Conditions:


  • Travel up to 10% of the work time. Travel may also include business travels via aircrafts and motor vehicles to various locations.


  • Role is based at the K-C location in Neenah, WI


Basic Qualifications:


  • 10-12 yrs. experience in marketing, sales and/or finance with strong understanding of brand foundational tools, brand positioning, and strategy development.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related experience


  • Ability to lead in a highly matrixed organization, driving collaboration across businesses and functions while influencing without authority


  • Demonstrated capability in leading and inspiring diverse teams and individuals to work together to accomplish goals


  • Ability to translate complex business problems into a simple, cohesive strategy using analytical skills


  • Compelling communications in crafting and transforming a vision and strategy into actionable plans that inspires emotional connection (internal and external).


  • Concept & Brief writing of both product innovation and renovation and commercial news.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Masters/MBA degree in Business related field


  • Experience with P&L management; development and execution of PL Brand Strategy; cross-functional knowledge; direct experience in all various aspects of business including manufacturing, product & technology development and product supply with strong understanding of financial systems and business plan development.
