Nemours Children's Hospital team is seeking a Neuromuscular Program Coordinator, FULL-TIME to join our Neuromuscular team in Orlando, Florida.

Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children’s Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital also features the area’s only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve, we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region

The Neuromuscular Program Coordinator is responsible for the full care coordination of the Neuromuscular patient population in coordination with the Division Chief of the Neurosciences division. This individual is responsible for the adherence to the grant reporting and applicable research requirements.

Position Responsibilities

1. Serves as a primary case manager in an outpatient setting.
a. Primary point of contact for patients enrolled in the Neuromuscular clinic
b. Actively participates in the Neuromuscular multi-disciplinary clinic
c. Coordinates diagnostic and therapeutic care among the different providers
d. Assists in procedures, e.g. EMG studies, patient and parent questionnaires
e. Assists in ordering labs from outside facilities, e.g. Genetic testing
f. Concierge function: to coordinate multiple provider clinic appointments assist with

travel/lodging for out-of-area families
g. Obtains records from other institutions
h. Assists with the transition of care from pediatric to adult care
i. Manages sick calls in conjunction with the RN, MD or APN
j. Distributes educational materials to patients and families
k. Assists with community resource referrals
2. Maintains Muscular Dystrophy Association Grant Reporting Requirements:
a. Database entry and Reporting
b. Liason the local Muscular Dystrophy Association.
3. Participates in and supports clinical research studies
4. Documents all aspects of patient education appropriately
5. Promotes a patient and family-centered care model
6. Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to

time by employee’s supervisor.

Position Requirements


  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education required

  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Minimum of one year work experience in healthcare required
