Nemours is seeking a Sleep Tech to join our team in Pensacola, FL. This is a part-time, position.

With clinic locations in Pensacola and Destin, Florida, Nemours provides pediatric specialty care to children and families in northwest Florida and southern Alabama. The Sleep Tech is responsible for assessing, performing and evaluating all therapeutic, diagnostic and monitoring services in an outpatient pediatric Sleep Lab. In accordance with a physician’s order, the Sleep Technologist performs procedures with a degree of independent clinical judgment under the general supervision of the Medical Director of the Sleep Lab. The sleep technologist is knowledgeable in the safe operation, calibration, maintenance and quality control of the equipment used in the Sleep Lab.

Sleep studies (infants, pediatrics, adolescents) to include, but not limited to:


  • Multi-channel polysomnogram without BiPAP/CPAP

  • Multi-channel polysomnogram with BiPAP/CPAP

  • Multiple Sleep LatencyTest (MLST) (after additional training)

  • Scoring of studies (after additional training)

Requirements:

1. Successful completion of a polysomnography program associated with a state-licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician.
OR
2. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of six months of pediatric experience.
3. Ability to score sleep studies.

Licenses, Registrations or Certifications


  • If you are an RT, a successful completion of the RRT Exam, as administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care or equivalent, is required with registry in sleep from the BRPT, NBRC or ABSM preferred. Acquiring a sleep credential, such as the RPSGT, must be obtained within 3 years of employment in the lab.

  • If you are Polysomnographic Technician, credentialing by the BRPT or ABSM is required.

  • Active Basic Life Support certification is required for all.
