The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver products, supplied by the Cornell Dairy Operations, to the Ithaca-area Cornell community, in a safe and timely manner. Products may include, but are not limited to: fluid milk, ice cream, cultured products and juice.

The primary responsibilities will include:
- Must have knowledge of current product inventory;
- Planning, coordination and implementation of product deliveries including retrieval of empty milk cases;
- Maintain good customer service, including fielding customer comments and complaints;
- Minor vehicle maintenance, including monitoring and filling fluids;
- Ensure proper food handling practices, including monitoring and documentation of delivery truck temperatures and proper documentation of outdated and damaged products.
- Work with the Cornell Dairy purchasing office to coordinate regular and special event deliveries, ensure invoicing is accurate and communicate customer feedback and complaints.
- Assist with Dairy Plant production activities as required
- Additional food production duties in the dairy plant may be assigned during summer months.

This position requires independent action and the ability to work cooperatively with other team members. Work days and work times vary throughout the year. Work hours may vary from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm to 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Work schedule may vary from Monday through Friday and include Saturday and Sunday when deemed necessary.

Position will be partl-time 30 hours per week from August 15th through May 15th and part-time 20 hours per week from May 16th through August 14th (dates may vary slightly from year to year).

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2-3 years of demonstrated delivery experience driving a product delivery box truck or similar size vehicle.
- Must be able to safely operate product delivery truck under inclement weather conditions.
- Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted New York State driver's license with no major driving violations and be cleared for driving for University business.
- Outstanding customer service/communication skills and the ability to work successfully independently as well as in a team-oriented environment are a must.
- Ability to work under extreme temperature conditions (i.e., cooler, freezer, hot summer days).
- Must be able to perform continual lifting, including being able lift a minimum of 55 pounds continually throughout the day.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, while adapting quickly to changing priorities.
- Desire to learn, exhibit an overall positive attitude, and demonstrated professionalism at all times are essential.
- Ability to foster a respectful work environment.
- Must be flexible and receptive to new ideas and approaches.
- Ability to work to achieve favorable outcomes for the organization and effectively represent the Food Science Department and the University.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience delivering food product is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of good manufacturing practices and sanitation requirements in the food processing setting.
- Knowledge of the campus and community.
- Inventory management and/or order fulfillment experience.
