Job Description Product Quality Engineer Sr. Staff

We are looking for a talented Product Quality Engineer who will be responsible for leadership and coordination of Inphi s product quality management for telecommunication products. The focus will be managing product quality from preventative monitoring of supplier quality metrics to driving corrective actions as necessitated, working with customers to resolve quality issues on a timely manner, and leading continuous improvement for best-in-class quality.

This position will be based in Penang, Malaysia, or Hsinchu, Taiwan.

Responsibilities Include:

* Manage suppliers through periodic audits and quality reviews

* Support new product introduction at suppliers, including development & sustaining of new assembly processes, quality control and monitoring of processes, drive failure analysis and corrective actions for process improvement

* Support moving products to high volume production by leading supplier quality management activities, such as yield monitoring, regular quality reviews, audit and improvement plans

* Drive proactive improvement plans in response to yield and quality issues

* Engage with customers closely to resolve quality issues effectively and efficiently

* Lead and drive continuous quality improvement to deliver best-in-class quality by defining strategy, monitoring/reporting quality metrics

* Other tasks assigned by Manager

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

* Bachelor degree in Materials or Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of experience, or Masters degree with 5+ years of experience in managing product quality

* 5+ years experience in relevant semiconductor package assembly and manufacturing, managing off shore contract manufacturers etc.

* Strong communication skills in customer engagement, manage quality issues in a sense of urgency

* Strong knowledge of materials, material properties and processes used for advanced semiconductor package assembly

* Audit experience of supply chain and assembly suppliers

* Demonstrated experience of managing supplier quality for complex multichip CMOS package assemblies; in-depth experience with fcBGA, advanced package is desired

* Experience in FMEA, SPC, establishing experimental design (DOE), strong skills in process control and monitoring as a proactive approach

* Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including statistical data analysis

* Must possess excellent oral/written communication skills

* Ability to work independently and be effective in a matrix management organization

* Knowledge of failure analysis techniques, tools and limitations a plus (SEM, TEM, DSC, TMA, FTIR, )

* Periodic travel to suppliers in Asia will be required
