SUMMARY

The QC Welder position is a critical role for the company. This individual will follow all safety rules and regulations and work as a part of a team daily.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.

- Ensures correct welding specification usage

- Perform visual inspection of weld process

- Ensures None Destructive Examination (NDE) is successfully performed and recorded

- Exercise Stop Work Authority if unsafe work conditions exist

- Witness and document pressure tests

- Attends project coordination meetings, QA/QC meetings and other meetings as necessary to support client

- Performs daily field inspections of process mechanical, electrical and controls items

QUALIFICATIONS

- American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)-will be verified through www.aws.org

- 5 years minimum project experience (transportation, bridge construction, construction materials testing a plus)

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- A plus if certified in nondestructive testing (NDT) as an NDT Level II

- Familiarity with Construction Materials Standards, Specifications and Codes (AISC, ASTM, AWS)

- A working knowledge with ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.5.

- Ability to review plans, specifications and project special provisions to verify compliance

- Familiarity with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) for construction

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of experience and education

- Ability to pass background check and drug screen

- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record

- Knowledge of the construction industry and documentation

COMPUTER SKILLS

- Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel)
