Short Description

Reporting to the Senior Tax Director, Avaya is looking for a talented and motivated Tax
Director (Reporting & Compliance) to be a part of Avaya's tax leadership. The role will
have a broad range of responsibilities.
The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and
being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous
situations. The ability to collaborate cross-functionally within Avaya and drive successful
business results will also be important.
The successful candidate will be able to prioritize appropriately, maintain a high level of
professionalism, integrity, and have the ability to work well with people at all levels
inside and outside Avaya.

Responsibilities

Lead & oversee a diverse team of experienced tax professionals focused on:
* the tax aspects of Avaya's US GAAP quarterly consolidated financial
statements, overseeing outsource providers as well as partnering with
business & finance colleagues, and engaging with Avaya's auditors, to
ensure delivery of timely, reliable & compliant quarterly tax provisions as
well as related balance sheet & income statement analytics, sensitivity
testing & SOX controls.
* managing Avaya's annual US Federal & State corporate income tax return
filings, as well as quarterly estimated tax payments, and coordinating
insights & perspective to ensure timely & compliant US federal & state tax
filings.
* analyzing tax metrics as a component of Avaya's financial forecasting
process.
* establishing & maintaining global tax policies, including SOX controls,
relating to the company's financial reporting and record keeping.
* Drive process improvement and the utilization of new technology solutions to
streamline & align our data flows and tax reporting, to yield reduced timelines with
enhanced visibility, improved analytics & more precise insights into the tax aspects
of financial forecasts & the attendant tax metrics.
* Partner with our Director of US Taxes & Director of Non US Taxes to ensure the
US GAAP Tax consequences of strategic & operational initiatives are understood,
confirmed, validated & documented.
