SCHEDULE: Full-time

Utilizing advanced digital technology and an accomplished medical staff, Southern Hills Hospital with 265 beds, provides the communities of southwest Las Vegas with emergency and pediatric emergency services, behavioral health inpatient and outpatient programs for ages 55 and older, an accredited Chest Pain Center, a Certified Primary Stroke Center, OB-GYN and diagnostic imaging and surgical services. POSITION SUMMARY:

The surgical services secretary (SSS) participates as an active member of the team on the assigned unit/department. The (SSS), under the direction of a licensed Registered Nurse, performs responsibilities of answering phones, entering orders, assisting physicians with CPOE as needed, requesting patient rooms through the bed tracker, interfacing with the admitting and other ancillary departments, maintaining appropriate supplies, compiling and breaking down charts, interfacing with customers. The SSS maintains current competency with skills required for the assigned unit/department. The SSS remains calm in crisis and emergency situations, and follows direction of other staff members as appropriate. The SSS maintains effective working relationships with all members of the Health Care Team.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

* Acute Care Hospital experience

* Appropriate to patient population and level of care

* Computer literate

* Meditech experience preferred

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Associates degree strongly preferred

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

Computer proficiency
