POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Perioperative Services Director, the Sterile Processing Department Supervisor provides quality services while maintaining strict aseptic and sterile parameters in product processing. The SPD Supervisor also provides the Operating Room with the right product at the right time and in the quantities needed utilizing national agreements and contracts to the maximum extent possible. Follows established Policies and Procedures for maintaining instrumentation inventory at proper level to ensure that using surgical services and facility departments have adequate support.

Works with charge RNs, managers, supervisors, and staff to coordinate the various functions of the Sterile Processing Department with all patient care units, the Emergency Room, X‑ray, Cardiac Cath Lab, Day Surgery, Labor and Delivery, Endoscopy and the main Operating Room

QUALIFICATIONS

CERTIFICATIONS: NATIONAL CERTIFICATION RECOMMENDED - IAHCSMM

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 2 year current experience as an SPD Tech or Surgical Tech or OR RN

Prefer three years clinical supervisory experience
