Job Description:
Oncology Nurse Navigator
The Nurse Navigator offers individualized assistance to patients, families, and caregivers, ensuring timely access and seamless coordination of services throughout the continuum of care. Provides leadership and management of the navigator program.
Full-Time Position (80 Hours Per Pay Period)
Shift: Varied 0700 and 0800 start times Days: Monday-Friday

Demonstrates sound knowledge and actions in the care and decision making for designated patient populations and seeks guidance appropriately
Demonstrates the knowledge, skill and coordination to provide nursing care, symptom management, and guidance to the cancer patient from early diagnosis to survivorship
Flexible, able to prioritize and address multiple responsibilities concurrently
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; able to adjust to variable audiences and levels of education; strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrates a caring compassionate attitude toward others; cooperative and approachable demeanor; readily acts as a role model and staff resource
Requires minimal supervision; self-motivated; able to work both independently and collaboratively
Strong problem-solving, organization/time management and prioritization skills
Demonstrates professionalism; remains composed under stress; follows through on commitments
Computer proficiency to include: EMR (Soraian, Mosaiq, EPIC preferred), Microsoft Office and Web-Based Applications
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers
BSN or actively matriculated into a BSN degree program with the expectation that BSN degree will be completed within 12 months of hire
Master’s degree in nursing preferred
OCN certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire. Additional certifications related to oncology nurse navigation/area of oncology specialty recommended
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two years of relevant adult oncology experience
Care coordination/nurse navigation experience
Accreditation and/or program development experience
