SSI- Your source for safety lighting, backup alarms and traffic control products for highway, commercial, utility, and construction vehicles.

We're seeking an energetic, results oriented sales representative to come join our team as an Associate Inside Sales Representative. This professional will learn how to expand our business and increase sales with existing accounts, new OEM, distributor and end user customers with the objective to meet quarterly sales commission quota and maintain customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities


  • Learn the processes for maintaining and developing existing customers as assigned by SSI management
  • Handle acceptable level of inbound and outbound phone calls with minimum errors
  • Learn how to effectively present all appropriate products and services to assigned customer base
  • Develop skills in building and fostering effective customer relationships and sales opportunities to support meeting quota objectives
  • Assist team in development of current low value customers and identification and development of new or inactive accounts

Profile


  • Learn how to identify and resolve basic customer complaints or questions, investigate problems, develop solutions and prepare return authorizations
  • Learn effective utilization of sales planning tools and the pipeline management process to obtain business objectives and goals
  • Learn to assist Regional Sales Managers by providing quotations, sharing information regarding new customers and leads and making requests for customer visits
  • Learn to update customer databases, record quotes, customer contact information, and trip details in business systems
  • Learn to cooperatively work inside and outside sales teams to identify and capitalize on opportunities for up-selling/cross selling to existing accounts
  • Work with mentor, trainer, and manager to gather and use competitive market information to create sales opportunities and customer relationships
  • Continuously develop and maintain knowledge of sales processes and procedures, industry, competition, products and services
  • Attend SSI sales staff meetings and product training as required
  • Learn to document work in an organized manner
  • Accept and act on feedback from leadership
  • Learn to create brand awareness to support our global value proposition
  • Work with sales management and senior team members to develop and manage goals and objectives, task prioritization, and effective use of available resources
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to learn about and strive to achieve departmental sales goals and balanced scorecard objectives

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience & Skills:

  • In addition to educational requirement, must possess a minimum of one year or applicable customer service role
  • Demonstrates a proven track record in meeting customer relations and sales objectives and goals through making outbound and receiving inbound calls and effective customer relationship development

  • Demonstrates understanding and desire to master inside sales techniques including cold calling, customer qualification and customer acquisition
  • Demonstrated proficiency in navigating, finding, and entering information into company systems and sales planning tools
  • Demonstrates proficiency using Google Mail, Sheets, Docs, and Calendar
  • Demonstrates intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills including proven phone skills with customers
  • Demonstrates proficient organizational, time management, and follow up skills
  • Must be team oriented and demonstrate a positive attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to work with other departments to achieve business objectives
