BRIDGE PRACTICE

DESCRIPTION

As a Structural Engineer you will work on complex building/transit projects and develop innovative, practical solutions to various building design work for RIDOT, ConnDOT, MassDOT and MBTA. In this role you will perform design and analysis as well as other structural engineering tasks for building systems and components.

• Perform complex structural analysis and prepare design calculations for building/transit facilities.
• Develop structural details and construction plans using Microstation or AutoCAD.
• Assist and check design calculations performed by others.
• Prepare geometric layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations.
• Establish and maintain corporate relationships with all employees, clients, and other stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• 5 - 7 years of experience.
• P.E. or S.E. license in CT and/or RI
• Proficiency with Civil 3D, MIDAS, STAAD Pro, BrD, Mathcad, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Familiar with structure design code, IBC and State Building Code, AASHTO Bridge design specification and DOT standard.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with DOT Facilities Criteria is a plus.
