Engineering Systems Administrator
The Engineering Systems Administrator (ESA) is responsible for administration of all engineering systems which include, but are not limited to, Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Windchill CAD data management and Windchill Product Data Management (PDM). The ESA establishes 3D design processes and procedures, defines and supports CAD/PDM infrastructure, and provides training to employees on Acumed's engineering systems.
*Experience with Windchill and/or PLM/PDM systems experience is required*
*Ability to create applications in programming languages such as Java (preferred), C, C++, .Net is required*
Duties/Responsibilities
Plans and implements upgrades, patches, and installation of CAD and PDM applications and equipment
Creates and maintains disaster recovery, security, CAD and PDM data backup and restoration plans and policies
Performs routine maintenance for CAD and PDM and file management software and hardware
Troubleshoots CAD and PDM related software and hardware issues
Acts as 3D CAD design super-user and develops solutions to difficult design challenges
Develops CAD best practices for advanced designs
Develops Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions related to engineering systems
Provides basic and advanced training on CAD and PDM systems, processes and best practices
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates user needs to develop/acquire solutions that support overall business strategies related to engineering systems
Manages multiple projects with little to no supervision
Mentors junior Engineers
Architects roadmap for future improvements to CAD and PDM systems and processes
Develops relationships with outside engineering systems vendors and solution providers
Provides regular feedback to engineering leadership and helps to set personal and departmental goals
Qualifications
BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or equivalent
Ability to create applications in programming languages such as Java (preferred), C, C++, .Net
8 yrs experience in a related field
Ability to develop solutions to automate and streamline complex engineering deliverables and processes
Advanced understanding of computer systems and systems management
Demonstrated ability to create highly advanced 2D and 3D models in parametric modeling applications such as Creo (preferred), Inventor, and SolidWorks
Ability to provide basic and advanced training classes for CAD systems, processes and best practices
Ability to develop Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for CAD and PDM systems and related processes
Ability to lead effective brainstorming and troubleshooting sessions
Ability to manage multiple projects with little to no supervision
