Senior Digital Producer, Learning Media

Full-Time; No end date, but continuation of position is dependent on continued grant funding

Reports to: Senior Director, Learning Media

We're looking to add a Senior Digital Producer to our Learning Media department. As our Senior Digital Producer, you will develop, produce, and manage video and web projects for six prominent national education websites: ReadingRockets.org, BrainLine.org, ColorinColorado.org, StartWithABook.org, LDOnLine.org, and AdLit.org. In collaboration with the managers of each website, you will be responsible for creating, editing, publishing, and marketing online content (e.g., audio, video, social media posts, infographics, and e-newsletters) for our websites and will be actively involved in managing and posting on the social media channels we operate in conjunction with our websites.

Our sites provide reliable, practical guidance for families, educators, and others dealing with topics such as teaching children to read and write, learning disabilities, the brain and mental health, brain injury, PTSD, immigration, and working with English language learners. Our websites cumulatively serve two million unique visitors each month and have won major national awards.

In an average week, you can expect to:

- Develop and implement strategies to increase our overall audience and to serve targeted audiences (e.g., teachers, veterans, families in Title I schools) more effectively.

- Work with website managers to identify and acquire new content from third parties.

- Cultivate relationships with education and research organizations and other content producers with an eye toward acquiring/sharing content.

- Enhance our social media and outreach efforts to increase our reach and user engagement.

- Conceptualize and produce original video content for our websites.

- Manage a library system for project media.

- Contribute to grant proposals that would create new opportunities to sustain our projects.

What success looks like:

- After 60 days, you'll be editing video interviews, producing Zoom video shoots with content experts, writing Tweets and Facebook posts for review, and posting content to our websites.

- After 120 days, you'll be generating new ideas for multimedia content, managing one or more social media accounts, connecting with partner organizations to acquire content, and launching new strategies to drive audience to our sites.

You must have:

- Proven ability to connect with people from all walks of life and to tell compelling stories.

- Experience working with content management systems, preferably including Drupal.

- Minimum 10-15 years' experience in video production, multimedia production, web content creation, or related fields, with work samples and writing samples to share.

- Five plus years' experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or other editing software.

You should have:

- Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: literacy, education, brain injury, PTSD, veterans' issues, or mental health.

- Bachelor's degree in liberal arts, or related field.
