Overview

Elderwood is currently seeking both full-time and part-time COVID-19 Testers to join our fight against COVID-19 (we will train)! This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to help out our vulnerable population in the WNY community while gaining experience in the healthcare space. Responsibilities

Collects nasal, NP, and Pharyngeal swabs for COVID-19 for staff and residents.
- Collects, prepares, labels and stores all laboratory specimens for testing according to established policies, procedures and protocols.
- Inventories and orders supplies; ensures adequate stock is available on a daily basis.
- Operates computer system to print requisitions or results
- Ensures that information on the requisition matches labels and that tests are ordered accurately.
- Adheres to the facility general safety policies and procedures, including transmission based precautions.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment, including cleaning up after each patient, biohazard disposal and decontamination of workstations as appropriate.
- Maintains manual or computerized logs and registries as assigned.
- Maintains confidential information. * Performs other duties as assigned.
- May require traveling to different facilities based on needs.

Qualifications

- High School Diploma/GED.
- One-year work experience in a medical lab or facility, but not required.
- Must be able to be fit tested for an N95 Mask.
- Must be able to pass a background check, with NO prior convictions of any felonies.
- Preferred Experience: Medical Office, Nursing Home, Laboratory, Medical or Nursing Field, Nursing Student
