Mission/Responsibilities:

Supports, as needed, US Army Space and Missile Defense Command Capability Development Integration Directorate (CDID) government personnel for efforts associated with innovations for Space, Near Space, Space Control, Missile Defense Capabilities and information operations to the Warfighter. The test engineer provides mission support including test engineering support and advice to government customers; attending technical working groups and configuration control boards; working with software development engineers, information assurance engineers, system administrators, and network engineers to troubleshoot and resolve functional deficiencies; providing technical assistance to operational testers performing Force Development Evaluations; and, collaborating with software development engineers to create applications that meet customer mission needs. The ideal candidate will:

- Work in a Test Team environment with multiple systems under test

- Conduct Independent Verification and Validation, Regression, functional tests

- Engineer test architectures

- Develop test scenarios, concepts and strategies

- Author test plans, detailed test procedures

- Interpret system requirements and create testable requirements

- Read, interpret and apply .xsd and other schema documentation to test results

- Create test measures; critical operational issue, operational capabilities, measures of evaluation, measures of performance

- Incorporate message processing business and normalization rules into tests procedures

- Create test messages in various formats

- Monitor and report server performance during capacity tests

- Make data collection forms, collect test data and perform data analysis

- Prepare Quick Look briefings and final test reports

- Document deficiencies and update status in Visual Studio Team Foundation Server

- Develop and execute automated tests utilizing Test Complete or similar software

- Prepare and present briefings (Test Readiness Review, Quick Look, deficiency status)

- Develop test schedules to include task lines, resource requirements, dependencies, time schedules and critical path

- Perform installation and checkout procedures in operational environment

Requirements:

- Bachelor Degree in related field + 5 years relevant experience working Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E) and with testing communications software, message translation, and database storage. Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated, with keen attention to detail.

- Experience in Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E)

- Basic understanding of Group Policy and Change Management best practices.

- Understanding of IPv4, IPv6, TCP/IP and basic subnetting principles.

- Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure cloud services.

- Security Principles to include Password Policy, Physical Security, Access Control and Risk Assessment and Mitigation.

- Experience using Wireshark, tcpdump and Putty

- Must be able to obtain a DOD Top Secret Security Clearance and be eligible for SCI.
