Position Description

QIAGEN Genomic Services Group, with laboratories at QIAGEN's headquarters in Hilden, Germany and the USA, provides high-quality, customized sample-to-insight services to customers: From nucleic acid isolation to qPCR, NGS and bioinformatics. You will work in an agile, interdisciplinary team with a unique range of competencies. We are looking for a Scientific Project Manager of the QIAGEN Genomic Service Site in Frederick (MD), USA.

Your task will be the management of Service Projects throughout the whole value process:

-Pre-consultation of experimental set-up with sales and customer
- Experimental planning with the global service lab team
- Forecasting of project finalization & communication of status up-dates to sales and customers - maintaining project management database
- Communicate with and consult customers throughout the project pipeline, including data analysis
- Lead the launch of new products in the Service core, including establishing bioinformatics pipelines for NGS and qPC

Position Requirements

- Strong background in molecular biology and bioinformatics or computational biology, with a focus on NGS technologies, both in the lab and with data analysis
- Experience with qPCR and assay development is desirable
- Experienced in one or more programming languages: R, shell scripting/Python/Perl, and the Linux environment
- Experience working with different bioinformatics databases and tools
- Experienced in working in international teams and interacting with customers and commercial teams desirable
- Profound understanding of working according to SOPs, ISO 9001 and other lab certifications desirable
