Students successfully completing this class are eligible to apply for testing to become a CNA in the State of Oregon.
All candidates must complete registering by January 6, 2021 by 12pm to be considered.

The interview process involves required attendance at (by written invitation/e-vite only) an Informational Meeting to be held January 12, 2021 from 3-4:30pm in the NA Classroom at:

Classroom: 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM (96 hours)
Clinical: 5:30 AM to 1:30PM (75 hours)
(All classroom and lab times will be held in the Avamere Court, Keizer Campus NA Classroom. Clinicals are 8 hour days; clinicals will be held in Avamere Facilities located in the Salem/Keizer area.)

This is a great start to become a Nursing Assistant in the State of Oregon and is also a wonderful step to becoming a licensed nurse. Avamere offers tuition reimbursement for Nursing School after one year of full-time employment.
Responsibilities/Qualifications/Skillset
You will learn to:
Check each resident routinely to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her wishes.
- Review care plans daily to determine if changes in the resident's daily care routine have been made on the care plan.
- Inform the Nurse Supervisor of any changes in the resident's condition so that appropriate information can be entered on the resident's care plan.
- Assist resident's with daily needs, including preparation for activity and social programs, and transporting residents to/from appointments.
- Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
- Ensure that resident's rooms are ready for receiving and make residents comfortable.
- Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies.
- Must possess a minimum of a 10th grade education.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Effectively communicate necessary resident information to Charge Nurses, Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.
