Highlights:

You are passionate about increasing revenue and ensuring a successful sales cycle. As the Director of Sales Engineering National Accounts, you focus on guiding and mentoring a team of regional Sales Engineers that work closely with regional and local Sales Manager and Account Executives. You maximize the sales cycle by leading your team to provide detailed pre-sale activities, including technical presentations, client requirement gathering, pre-sale designs, capital requirements and identifying strategic and field trial opportunities.

You possess an expert level of understanding of service provider solutions and the demands of enterprise markets for services and connectivity. You ensure that Spectrum Enterprise processes and products support the achievement of sales objectives through collaboration with Product Development, Corporate and Regional Engineering, Sales, Operations and Training. You maximize the Sales Engineering department by recruiting, training and managing all pre-sales technical support. You thrive managing your teams in an office environment and traveling as needed to achieve company goals. You report to the Global Vice President of National and Partner Sales for goals and guidance.

What you will do:

* Encourage company-wide success through active and consistent support of all efforts to simplify and enhance the client experience.

* Be the empowering leader for the Sales Engineering team by taking full accountability for company-wide strategies and goals.

* Ensure client satisfaction by leading managers and ensuring successful operations of their assigned regions and effective partnership with sales teams to provide product solutions to meet client needs.

* Achieve strategic goals and ensure revenue by coordinating pre-sales engineering resources to support account activity.

* Enhance team production by assessing, building and developing individual team capabilities and readying the processes to scale.

* Improve sales and technical teams through coordination with training to direct, develop and deliver instructional material.

* Successfully complete complex and strategic initiatives by directing a team of Sales Engineering Managers through implementation, planning, solution preparation and measurement.

* Increase sales closure rates by designing solutions that adhere to company published standards while driving low cost and high quality.

* Develop and drive new revenue streams through the coordination and championing of research and product roadmaps while serving as liaison with outside vendors and technology organizations.

* Lead solution sharing and knowledge transfer among the Sales Engineering team by fostering an environment of teamwork and mentorship.

* Drive collateral and product features required to achieve sales revenue goals by collaborating with Product Development and Marketing.

* Advocate for the Sales and Sales Engineering team at every cross-department management meeting.

* Assist product groups to effectively communicate with field sales representatives about road maps and engineering releases while managing technical escalations and the effects on commercial clients.

* Work closely with medium to large clients to understand their needs and advocate on their behalf within product groups and engineering teams.

* Track and report on weekly, monthly and quarterly sales engineering opportunity assignments and revenue potential for senior leadership to leverage.

* Ensure that Sales teams get the proper technical training and support from Sales Engineering by working closely with Sales team management.

* Identify market trends and translate the impacts for Spectrum Enterprise and our clients.

Required keys for success:

* Ten or more years of multi-service operator (MSO) or telecommunications experience in technology, network design and engineering and project management.

* In-depth networking technology knowledge and the ability to assess future requirements of products and impacts of engineering decisions on clients.

* Strong client-facing skills in partnership with sales leads.

* Proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and build consensus.

* Comfortable setting realistic expectations and managing a high-performing team using strong conflict and issue resolution skills.

* Solid sales advocate with effective client facing and relationship building skills.

* Technically capable of defining specific product requirements and understanding how they will affect clients.

* History of attracting, developing, engaging and retaining highly motivated and skilled team members.

* Understanding of client businesses and applications of Spectrum Enterprise solutions in various environments and across various vertical markets.

* Advanced understanding of service providers and MSO network architectures and technologies.

* Ability to multi-task and translate complicated technical needs to non-technical audiences.

* Sharp financial and analytical business skills.

* Active and valid driver s license, a safe driving record and availability to travel.

* Excellent written and spoken English communication skills with all levels of an organization.

Your education:

* Bachelor s degree in engineering, computer science, IT management or a related field (preferred).
