Job Description:

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.

This new unit will serve as an observation unit for patients that present from the Emergency Department. The patient population on the unit include 23-hour observations, short stay surgeries,

general surgery, total joint replacement, fractures and minor trauma patients. RN's administer medications accurately according to policy. Completes

admission and shift patient assessments. Plans and carries out patient care. Assists physicians with examinations and special procedures.

Position Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current State of Georgia Registered Nurse License. Current ACLS preferred. Minimum 2 years recent

Ortho/Med Surg experience preferred.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED: 1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. 2. Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training. 3. Certified in American Heart Association s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). PREFERRED: 1. BSN degree preferred 2. National Certification in Clinical Specialty preferred
