Position Summary:

Incumbent performs the essential functions of the Admissions Department, which can include Pre-Admission, Financial Counseling, Insurance Notification, Verification and Authorization, Management of Unscheduled Admissions in either Acute Care or Mental Health Admissions.

Required Qualifications:

* Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of Government and Commercial Insurance Plans

* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Managed Care plans

* Demonstrated ability to utilize payer and government websites to access and interpret health plan benefit packages and make determinations

* Demonstrated experience with referral authorization process

* Experience in a hospital or medical office setting

* Experience with registration and/or billings computer software programs

* Must demonstrate general understanding of medical terminology

Preferred Qualifications:

* Ability to ensure proper billing or financial procedures for patients

* Bilingual in English and Spanish

* Experience with computer software programs such as EPIC or other registration programs
