Your Position:

Job Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer-Hardware, at John Deere's Construction & Forestry Dubuque Works location, you will work with suppliers on development of embedded systems hardware (operator displays,/ controllers,/ keypads, sensors, etc.) for C&Fconstruction equipment. In addition, you will:


  • Develop new electrical components that can be reused across for construction and forestry equipment.machine platforms
  • Provide problem solving expertise on embedded systems issues for various machine platforms
  • Participate on enterprise teams as the embedded systems representative for the Earthmoving division

What Skills You Need


  • 3 or more years of experience performing analysis, design, and testing of electronic circuits
  • 3 or more years of experience with electronic components, such as: Micro Ccontrollers, memory technologies, analog, and digital circuitry, etc.
  • Proficient with electronics tools, such as: oscilloscopes, multimeters, simulators, debuggers, etc.
  • Ability to understand and critique electrical/electronics schematics and designs
  • Provide technical support to the design teams, factory, Supply Management, and Product Support during key product development phases
  • Experience writinghardware and/or software requirement documents, and other technical documents, such as design guidelines
  • Experience working in a team environment and solving technical problems

  • Experience in Embedded Software Development for mobile equipment applications
  • Knowledge of Ethernet, CAN, and LIN Communications, as well as analysis tools
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing processes and techniques
  • Knowledge of Electro-hydraulics and powertrain applications
  • Strong project management skills and leadership potential
  • Knowledge of systems engineering concepts
  • Experience in device driver firmware development
  • Experience designing electronic/electrical components for embedded systems and harsh environments
  • Experience in validation and verification of electronic/electrical components

Education (or equivalent experience)


  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering or other relevant discipline.
