Job Description:

Position Overview

This position is responsible for one of two areas of focus, Income Taxes or Indirect Taxes.  This position will contribute to The Andersons success by acting in a lead role in executing the Tax Department's objectives of optimizing the effective income tax rate and minimizing income tax cash flow, or minimizing the charge for sales & use taxes, property taxes and motor fuel taxes.  The objectives will be achieved through effective tax planning, tax accounting and tax compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate tax planning projects and implement tax strategies.


• Analyze issues and conduct research needed to support tax positions taken by the Company.


• Prepare or review various income tax or sales & use tax, property tax and motor fuel tax returns.


• Coordinate or provide assistance with tax audits.


• Perform tax accounting, budgeting and forecasting in accordance with accepted professional standards


• Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and opportunities. Ensure Sarbanes Oxley 404 compliance, including identification and management of key tax accounting risks.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field required; Master's Degree in taxation preferred


• CPA preferred


• 5-10 years' relevant experience required
