Job Title: Warehouse Foreman
Department/Division: Logistics Department

Annual Pay: $37,713.59-$49,027.67 Type of position: Hours: 40/week
Plus competitive benefits package. Full time Exempt

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

This is a skilled position consisting of supervisory and detailed manual work in the receiving, storing, inventory control and issuing of a variety of materials, supplies and equipment. Additionally, the individual be responsible for the maintenance of audit worthy and accurate inventory records. Work is performed under the general direction of the Purchasing Manager. This position is also considered an emergency essential position. An emergency essential position is required to perform a variety of function to prepare, repair, and recover the City before, during, and after any adverse weather events (hurricane, tornado, flood etc.) or other contingencies (natural or manmade).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Supervises and participates in a variety of material acquisitions and storage activities to include:
· Manages and secures needed supplies, equipment, tools and materials.
· Initiates purchase orders for procurement of supplies, tools and equipment
· Monitors and reconciles inventory on a daily, monthly and annual basis through a database.
· Maintains professional communication with internal and external customers at all times
· Issues stock daily, enters receipt or issuances of products into the computer daily
· Coordinates the use of available equipment and staff to obtain maximum productivity and convenience.
· Retains time/work records and ensures adherence to all department requirements.
· Resolves discrepancies with shortages and receipt of incorrect items.
· Provides courteous and prompt support to other departments and divisions within the City.
· Assist with the interview process with warehouse applicants
· Trains and instructs other team members on detailed procedures.
· Plans work assignments and assigns tasks to staff.
· Supports staff when vacant warehouse positions occur due to staffing shortages, illness or scheduled leave.
· Maintains audit worthy records of purchases and conducts analysis to continually ensure best price possible for goods and services.
· Assists with auction of surplus and obsolete inventory, equipment and scrap material.
· Resolves discrepancies with shortages and receipt of incorrect items.
· Follows all City and Departmental policies and procedures.
· Enforces safety procedures and precautions at all times.
· Assists with budget preparation
· Performs other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Knowledge of the methods, practices and techniques involved in purchasing and storage of goods.
· Knowledge of effective leadership skills, team building, and supervisory techniques.
· Proficiency in computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and other software and systems as needed.
· Knowledge of the materials and supplies used in City Services.
· Ability to establish, implement, and encourage an effective safety program.
· Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and maintain required records.
· Ability to understand and transmit oral and written instructions in person, telephonically, and via email.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· High school diploma (or equivalency) required.
· Five (5) years of experience in receiving, storing and maintaining a warehouse or large inventory with computerized records required.
· Three (3) years of government warehouse experience preferred.
· Forklift operating experience is required. Certificate preferred.
· Valid driver's license required.
